The American strategy in the Gulf has failed. Most analyses stop there. This essay goes further: it examines the conflict from inside the logic of the Iranian regime, and asks what the war structurally produces. The answer is not a peace deal. It is a new architecture of power, one in which the United States loses not military supremacy but the permission to convert it into order, and China inherits the position by default.
